Osborn and Randgold Resources achieve a mining industry first

In an industry first, bulk materials handling and minerals processing specialist Osborn Engineered Products SA secured an order from Randgold Resources for mobile, track-mounted crushers to be used underground at the Loulo gold mine in West Africa. Following the success of an Osborn Track 3042 mobile jaw crusher supplied to Randgold in an earlier order, Osborn has supplied a further three units.

Osborn Crushers for Russia

Reflecting the inroads it is making into the Russian market, Johannesburg-based bulk materials handling and minerals processing specialist, Osborn, has netted an export order for three Osborn Hadfields Double Toggle Jaw Crushers to be employed at a ferrochrome crushing plant at Chelyabinsk.

Marketing director Martin Botha elaborates: "The Russian market is opening up for Osborn, largely through the efforts of our agent in St Petersburg, which is aggressively marketing Osborn's robust, high quality machines in the region.

SA's first KPI Superstacker telescoping conveyor

The first ever KPI "SuperStacker" road-portable telescoping conveyor has been sold in South Africa, by Johannesburg-based Osborn.

Marketing director Martin Botha elaborates: "Through our United States-based sister company KPI (also part of the Astec Industries Group), Osborn is now also offering the SuperStacker range of road-portable telescoping conveyors, and has, to date, sold one of the largest units in the range - a KPI Series 33 36" x 150' (914mm x 46m)  - to South African mining group Exxaro. This SuperStacker will be employed at Exxaro's Leeuwpan mine.
